Seeking practicing Catholic with excellent communication, organization, and people skills, as well as competencies in piano and vocal skills for the full-time position of Director of Music Ministry. The successful candidate has a commitment to Vatican II, a balance of contemporary Catholic liturgical music as well as music of our Church’s tradition, and a practical understanding of Catholic liturgy. Responsibilities: Schedule cantors for weekend liturgies, funerals, and weddings. Direct adult choir, men’s choir, and a handbell choir. Provide oversight to leaders of the youth band and the children’s choir, and support as requested to a Praise and Worship Band. Conduct choral rehearsals, train cantors, and oversee contract musicians. Provide music for weddings and funerals on a stipend basis. Meet with couples in planning wedding music and liturgies. Serve as a team member of the Pastoral Staff. Work with the Pastoral staff to provide vibrant, prayerful weekend and holy day liturgies. Piano is the primary instrument of the parish.
