As Catholics, we have a responsibility to engage in public and political life, to advocate for
the common good, the poor, the most vulnerable, and for human rights.
“Prayer for the General Assembly and Governor
God of power and might, wisdom and justice,
Through You, authority is rightly administered,
laws are enacted, and judgment is decreed.
Assist with your spirit of counsel and fortitude
the lawmakers of the State of Maryland.
May they always seek the ways of
righteousness and mercy.
Grant that they may be enabled by your
powerful protections to lead our State with honesty and integrity. Amen.
